Diapering at night
Cost difference
How many diapers do I need?
Q: Diapering at night Is it possible to cloth diaper at night? A: Absolutely! When diapering at night you will need a diaper with more absorbtion then you would during the day. I really like windpro fleece diapers and wool for night. But I also like pockets as well because I can customize the absorbancy to my needs. I also like to use diapers with a stay dry liner for night like fleece so that the baby will not feel as wet which will prevent diaper rash since the baby will be in the diaper way longer then he/she would during the day. Q: Cost difference What is the cost difference between cloth and disposable diapers? A: Well figure you would buy one package of diapers per week which is around $12 and two boxes of wipes which is about $5 per month until the child is 2 1/2 years old, the cost would be about $1820. Most people go through more then one pack of diapers a week so this is a low estimate. Cloth diapers and wipes could cost anywhere from $200 to $1000 depending on the type of diapers and the amount of diapers you choose. That is a savings of between $800-$1600. Plus add on the fact that you can use cloth diapers for multiple children which makes the savings even more! Q: How many diapers do I need? How many diapers do I need? A: Honestly it depends on how often you are wanting to wash them. Keep in mind that newborns will need more changes then an older baby so plan on 8-12 diapers per day for a newborn and 6-8 diapers per day for older babies. So just multiply that number by the number of days you want to go between washing and that is the number of diapers you will need. |
